They offer IT professionals and network operations center (NOC) personnel the ability to perform secure, remote data center management and out-of-band management of IT assets from anywhere in the world.  Using a hardened Linux operating system, the ACS 6000 console servers provide optimal performance, security and reliability. Using DSView 3 management software and integrated power, they provide a complete out-of-band management solution.

The ACS 6000 series of advanced console servers features a high-speed processor platform with dual Gigabit-Ethernet ports for redundancy, optional built-in modem and two 16- and 32-bit PC card options. Other benefits include an internal temperature sensor for device level monitoring, and configurable pin-outs for serial ports.  The ACS 6000 series also offers software features to meet the requirements of the most demanding data center management applications. Features include automated discovery tools to ease identification of servers, routers, switches or PBX connected to any serial port. This saves time at initial configuration and installation. To comply with existing data center network access policy, the ACS 6000 console servers provide customizable multiple access levels for secure management.

The ACS 6000 series provides a complete solution for secure remote control with features such as enhanced security, data logging and event monitoring. In addition, the console servers support next generation network standards such as Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). These console servers fit in 1U of rack space with single and dual AC power options. With and without modem, the console servers help maximize IT asset productivity, provide scalability and reduce operational costs.

Question: Do you have a console server (OOB) which can connect directly to routers, HP servers etc . I guess I am looking for an OOB using Ethernet port to connect to servers and routers . Likely to use less than 16 ports and will require to be dual DC power. Thanks in advance
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

We do indeed! See below for a few different options:

8 Port, Dual-DC: Raritan DSX2-8M-DC
16 Port, Dual-DC: NTI SERIMUX-S-16-48VDP
32 Port, Dual-DC: Raritan DSX2-32M-DC

For further recommendations or for any questions, please feel free to contact your KVM Switches Online sales representative.

Question: How to reboot or power/cycle the box???
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

Once you've connected your ACS6016DAC console server to a network, you can access the console server with its web manager. The web manager provides direct access to the console server via a graphical user interface instead of a command-based interface. Click System Tools to display icons which can be clicked to reboot or shut down the console server, upgrade the console server's firmware, save or restore its configuration or open a terminal session with the console server.

For more information regarding this procedure, please refer to the Avocent ACS 6000 Manual

Question: Include any rack mounting kit with ACS6016DAC-G2?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

The Avocent ACS6016DAC-G2 does indeed include the Mounting brackets, screws and cord retention clips, used for mounting the ACS6016DAC-G2 into a rack.

Question: We currently use ACS6016DAC-G2 from Avocent but this is EOL on 7/31/18. We want to get a replacement from the 8000 series, most likely the ACS8016DAC. But want to know what the -G2 specifies so I can get the same thing?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

G2 at the end of ACS6016DAC-G2 stands Generation 2. Avocent (by Vertiv) took out the PCI card slot in Generation 2 due to lack of usage of that slot.

ACS6016DAC-G2 vs. ACS8016DAC-400 (ACS 6000 series vs. ACS 8000 series)
The ACS8016DAC-400 is the direct replacement to the ACS6016DAC-G2. Both units are built on the same architecture and are very compatible as far as working in the same application. ACS8000 has a fiber up-link, more ram (1GB standard -expandable up to 16GB- compared to 256MB previously), and 8 USB ports instead of 1 for modems, storage, network adapters, etc.
