Question: Does it comes with some cables like "Raritan DCIM-USBG2"?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. To allow the greatest flexibility, the Raritan Dominion DLX-116 does not come with any Computer Interface Modules (CIMs) or cables.

There is a bundle version, the DLX-116-MPAC, which comes with sixteen 6.5ft. MCUTP20-USB CIMs (does not support Absolute Mouse Synchronization or Universal Virtual Media). The DLX-116-MPAC can be found here: https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/dlx-116-mpac.html

Question: Will the cables from a Dell 2161DS work with this unit?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. Typically, Computer Interface Modules (CIMs) are proprietary devices that won't work in different manufacturers' devices. In a best case scenario, the CIM might not be recognized. In some cases, however, using an incompatible CIM may damage the switch or render the CIM itself inoperable.

In light of the potential damage, we always recommend using the manufacturer's designated CIMs.

Question: How do I take remote from my local system?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

If we understood your question correctly:
The Raritan Dominion LX lets you access any of your local systems using any computer / any supported Web Browser:
  • To use the Java-based Virtual KVM Client, go to: http://IP-ADDRESS
  • To use the Microsoft .NET-based Active KVM Client: http://IP-ADDRESS/akc
  • You can also use HTTPS, or the DNS name of the LX assigned by your administrator (if applicable)

For further information on how to connect and setup your local systems with the DLX-116 please refer to the DLX-116 Quick-Start Guide (PDF), and the DLX-116 Manual (PDF) starting at page 10.

If on the other-hand you are trying to connect to your local user access port remotely (essentially a second Over-IP user):
You can use an IP Gateway such as the Raritan DKX2-101-V2 to connect to your local access port, over-IP.

Question: I was wondering with the Raritan Dominion LX Series, if I chose the DLX-116, if it is possible to purchase a secondary remote access user later to field upgrade to 2 users?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

The user count is dependent on circuitry so it would not be possible to expand the amount of users connected to the DLX-116. The tiering capability would allow for management of up to 256 computers by linking DLX units, but only from a single remote console.

You may want to consider opting for the 2-user Raritan DLX-216 instead.

Question: When will this be replaced by the next version (i.e. Raritan DLX2-116)?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

As of February 28th, 2019, the DLX-116 will be EOL'd March 15th and be replaced by the new Raritan DLX2-series which should be released in Q4 2019. DLX series will continue to be supported beyond the release of DLX2, but older units will no longer be manufactured.

Question: Will this switch support CAC card readers?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

For CAC Smart Card Reader support, you will need to move the Raritan Dominion DKX3 series switches.
