The BlackBox ServSwitch SW721A-R2 is a keyboard/video/mouse switch compatible with AT and PS/2 computer platforms. You can attach as
many as 256 CPUs to a set of ServSwitch units and use a single shared keyboard, monitor, and mouse to administer them all.
You can configure the ServSwitch SW721A-R2, scan CPU ports, set and trigger a screen-saver function, set the key-repeat rate for the keyboard, and perform
other functions via on-screen menus or by entering simple commands of two to six keystrokes from the shared keyboard. You can also control
the switch (but not actually view the CPUs) through the RS-232 port.
The switch is permanently hard wired. Every circuit is soldered down and there is no flash ROM. There is no way to use software to access one CPU from
the other or to access one network from the other.
You get automatic booting even with different kinds of CPUs! Connect both PC and PS/2 CPUs to the ServSwitch SW721A-R2, and boot them all simultaneously, Or
boot them remotely from your PC.
Plug a PS/2 mouse into the switch and access CPUs controlled with either serial or PS/2 mice—or any combination of the two.
