Incorporating the latest Multi-Stream Transport (MST) technology, the Aten CS1922M 2-Port USB 3.0 4K DisplayPort MST KVMP Switch is the world's first DisplayPort KVM switch with a built-in MST hub. The CS1922M enables users to adopt two console displays from a single DisplayPort 1.2 video source, providing an extended desktop mode and splitter mode at resolutions up to 4K for multitasking across two displays while reducing bulky cable connections.

To meet the ever-increasing demand for high-speed peripheral data transmissions, the CS1922M integrates a USB 3.1 Gen 1 hub to deliver unprecedented data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps - allowing you to maximize multitasking operations.

The unique independent switching feature allows the KVM switch's focus to be on one computer while its USB peripheral focus is on another computer. This eliminates the need to purchase a separate USB hub or stand-alone peripheral sharer - such as a print server or splitter. Additionally, the switch allows you to share the audio from each of the connected computers and even allows HD audio transmitted through a DisplayPort source.

With a rich feature set, the CS1922M is designed to exceed the requirements such as excellent video quality and ultra-fast data transmission speed for gaming, graphic design, animation, and video-editing applications.

Question: Hello, i have a 144hz monitor DisplayPort 1.2 at 2560x1440. Does Aten CS1922M KVM support a gaming monitor at the frequency of 144hz with g-sync enabled ? thank you
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

The Aten CS1922M supports the full DisplayPort 1.2 specification, including 2560 x 1440 @144Hz, and G-Sync.

Question: I want to run 5 monitors off MST (1080p) Display Port and 1 monitor off HDMI for a total of 6 monitors. Is this possible with this product?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

It would not; See the table below for the maximum number of monitors MST supports based on DisplayPort 1.2 Bandwidth:
Display Resolution with Standard 60 Frames per Second Refresh RateMaximum Number of Monitors Based on DisplayPort 1.2 Bandwidth
1680 x 1050 (WSXGA)5
1920 x 1080 (1080p), or 1920 x 12004
2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) 2
3840 x 2160 (4K UHD), or 4096 x 2160 (4K DCI)1

Question: Trying to confirm both these screens will work okay: Acer Predator XB271HU DP 144hz 2560*1440 & Dell U2718Q HDMI 60hz 3840*2160. Does someone know for sure? Worried both at the same time will cause issues.
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

The DisplayPort MST (Multi-Stream-Transport) specification would not support both of those resolution/refresh rate combinations at one; The CS1922M would support two sources with an output of up to 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) @ 60Hz. See below for supported resolution for multiple MST monitors:
Display Resolution with Standard 60 Frames per Second Refresh RateMaximum Number of Monitors Based on DisplayPort 1.2 Bandwidth
1680 x 1050 (WSXGA) @ 60Hz5
1920 x 1080 (1080p) @ 60Hz, or 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz4
2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) @ 60Hz2
3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) @ 60Hz, or 4096 x 2160 (4K DCI) @ 60Hz1

Please note, The PC sources must be DisplayPort 1.2 compliant.

Question: Would this product support 2 4k displays using both the HDMI and DP console port? The GPU is DP 1.4
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

For two displays the max resolution that the DisplayPort 1.2 MST standard would support is 2K WQXGA (2560 x 1600). See the table below for the maximum resolution the KVM would support based on the number of monitors.

Note, DP 1.4 is compatible with the DisplayPort 1.2 that the KVM features.

Display Resolution with Standard 60 Frames per Second Refresh RateMaximum Number of Monitors Based on DisplayPort 1.2 Bandwidth
1680 x 1050 (WSXGA)5
1920 x 1080 (1080p), or 1920 x 12004
2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) 2
3840 x 2160 (4K UHD), or 4096 x 2160 (4K DCI)1

Question: Will a 13" MacBook Pro (Touch/Late 2016) running macOS 10.14 using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable (Plugable or Uni brand) be able to drive two monitors (DisplayPort and HDMI) through the Aten CS1922M KVM switch? I'm getting mixed messages about dual-monitor MST support on macOS and want to verify before I buy.
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

Macbooks USB-C only supports a single display output per port; USB-C monitors cannot be daisy chained (plugged into each other) on the Mac platform and therefore have to be plugged directly into the MacBook independently.

That being said, you could go with the Aten CS1942DP Dual-Monitor DP KVM Switch instead which includes separate video input ports for each display.

Apologies for the delay while we double checked the Macbook MST specification.

Question: Hello, does this KVM switch support a WQHD resolution 3440 x 1440 at 120hz with G-sync?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

The Aten CS1922M supports the full DisplayPort 1.2 specification; The 3440 x 1440 resolution @120hz is just over the limit of DP1.2 specs. 60Hz, 75Hz, or 100Hz should be fine, but 120Hz wouldn't be expected.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!

Question: Dear support, we have ATEN CS1922M and we need to connect a PC with display port and a MacBook Pro 15 with USB C port both on HDMI display. The PC works fine but when I connect the Mac with a usb c to display port on the display port input on KVM there is no video on screen HDMI. Is there any compatibility issue?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

Mac OSX does not currently support DisplayPort MST daisy chaining, which the Aten CS1922M uses to pull two video outputs from a single DisplayPort cable.

If you would like a DisplayPort to DisplayPort & HDMI KVM, you may be interested instead in the Aten CS1942DP Dual-Monitor DisplayPort KVM Switch that doesn't require MST support with a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter for one of the displays outputs.

Or if you require HDMI for both displays, you may be interested instead in the SmartAVI D2H-4P-Duo-S Dual Monitor DisplayPort to HDMI KVM Switch that doesn't require MST or external HDMI adapters.

Question: Would this switch support using 2 identical HP EliteDisplay E273q Monitor 1FH52AA-U.S. monitors using either a MacBook Pro or a PC? I had a problem with a Targus Display link using these 2 monitors since they're not 4K (and I realize a display link is different than a KVM switch).
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

While I am not familiar with that exact display model, looking at the specifications, the Aten CS1922M should fully support 2 HP EliteDisplay E273Q (1FH52AA) monitors as long as the computer sources output DisplayPort 1.2 signal and MST (Multi-Stream-Transport). If your computer sources don't support MST, or you are unsure if they do, you may also be interested in the similar Aten CS1942DP 2-Port Dual Monitor DisplayPort KVM.

Both KVM Switches fully support 1080p and 2K (including 2560 x 1440) resolutions, and HDCP content.
