What are Dual Monitor KVM Switches?

Dual display KVM environments are ideal for situations where more desktop real estate is required such as CAD, graphic design, web development, engineering, and accounting. Dual monitor KVM switch products provide complete connectivity for two or more systems and save valuable physical workspace by eliminating redundant keyboards, mice, and monitors.

The dual monitor KVM switch allows for traditional KVM access to multiple computers with the additional benefit of allowing extended desktops across two or more displays. These dual display KVMs are often referred to as dual head capable and come in a variety of connections including VGA, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort or even a mixture of connections. Depending on the model, additional audio and USB peripheral sharing capability may be available. Dual monitor support is offered for many operating systems including Microsoft and Mac OS/X.
