DisplayPort KVMs with MST (Multi-Stream-Transport) Support or Hub

MST (Multi-Stream-Transport) allows users to adopt a single DisplayPort 1.2 video source to Multiple Monitors, providing an extended desktop mode and splitter mode for multitasking across two displays while reducing bulky cable connections.

  1. "Daisy chaining" adds the ability to connect a series of devices together using a single connection between each two devices. The new DisplayPort v1.2 daisy chainable displays have both a DisplayPort input and a DisplayPort output. The DisplayPort output connects to the next downstream display. This cabling arrangement, with one DisplayPort cable between each set of monitors, provides a less cluttered system configuration.
  2. MST Hubs convert a single DisplayPort connection to VGA/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort to connect with legacy monitors.
