How the Gefen EXT-DVI-CAT5 works:

The DVI CAT5 Extender sender unit sits next to your computer, DVD player or any set-top box. The cable supplied with the DVI CAT5 Extender connects your DVI source to the sender. The DVI CAT5 Extender receiver sits next to your DVI display - up to 150 feet away. The display plugs into the back of the DVI CAT5 Extender receiver. Two CAT5 cables* connect the sender and the receiver units to each other.  The DVI CAT5 Extender is HDCP compliant.

* NOTE: A shielded CAT5e or CAT6 cable for video is recommended for optimal video quality. The DDC CAT5 cable does not need to be shielded.
