The Gefen GF-EDD-DP is fully compliant with DisplayPort 1.4 and HDCP 2.3/2.2/1.x, and maintains reliable communication up to 8K@30Hz and 4K@60Hz with 32.4Gbps bandwidth (HBR3). Supports HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG video formats, plus immersive audio including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Features five factory-loaded Gefen EDID profiles and three user-programmable memory banks via USB-C for ultimate flexibility. Auxiliary channel re-clocking and active HPD/Link Training eliminate blank screens, mismatched resolutions, and signal loss.

How the GFEDD-DP works

Setup (Plug-and-Play): Connect the DisplayPort Detective inline between your source device and display using standard DisplayPort cables. Power via included 5V/1A adapter or USB bus power during programming. The unit automatically captures and stores the connected display's EDID information upon first connection.​​

Operation (Automatic Maintenance): Once programmed, the Detective maintains continuous EDID communication with your source, even when the display is powered off, switched away, or disconnected. Your computer always "sees" the display configuration, eliminating resolution resets, window repositioning, or black screen delays when displays come back online.​​

Customization (Advanced Control): Select from five factory EDID profiles using the 4-position DIP switch for instant compatibility with common display types. For custom requirements, connect via USB-C to program one of three user-programmable memory banks, allowing quick adaptation to unique system configurations. Enable the write-protect switch to lock configurations in production environments.
