The Cybex SC940H KVM switch delivers strong, effective security management designed to tightly control system and network access and deliver transparent security that does not impede user productivity

  • Outstanding security - Designed to meet the requirements of the latest National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Protection Profile V3.0 for peripheral-sharing devices.
  • Discrete processing paths - Isolated ports on the switch provide discrete processing paths to each system, preventing data leakage, transfer or crosstalk between adjacent ports.
  • Unique NUM Lock, CAPS Lock and Scroll Lock indicators - While the Cybex series maintains unidirectional data flow, it also provides indicators that alert users when the NUM Lock, CAPS Lock or Scroll Lock is on to improve ease of use.
  • Gain true image reproduction and display flexibility - Cybex KVM switches offer the industry's broadest range of video connections. The SC940H supports HDMI 1.4, which delivers resolutions up to UHD 4K (3840X2160 @ 30 ).

Question: Does the SC940H have a DC adapter or does it do AC directly out the back?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

The Avocent (by Vertiv) Cybex SC940H has the DC adapter built in - you would plug in a AC cord directly into the unit.

Question: Will the Avocent SC940H-001 allow for displayport to HDMI cable input? we have tried DVI to HDMI with no success.
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. It is interesting that the DVI to HDMI did not work. As long as the signal is DVI-D (digital) it should be compatible. In fact, one of the cable options for this particular model includes DVI-D as a connection option to the computer. (There may be resolution/refresh rate issues as DVI-D doesn't have the same bandwidth as HDMI)

Unfortunately, DisplayPort compatibility is pretty hit or miss, depending on what version of DisplayPort is being used. Sometimes a passive adapter cable will work, but more often than not, an active converter is needed.

We reached out to our Vertiv (formerly Avocent) contact and he was not aware of any issues, but mentioned that the SC940-001 was specifically for DVI-I targets, the SC940H-001 for HDMI targets and the SC940D-001 was for DisplayPort. He wasn't sure if any functionality would be lost using adapters (for DVI or DisplayPort).

Detailed product support is beyond the scope of this FAQ. Having said that, we would suggest checking to make sure the DVI connection/output is digital adn of an appropriate resolution for DVI-D. If the connection still fails, our Vertiv contact recommended reaching out to their support team at 1-888-793-8763. They may know of issues concerning signal adaptation he is not aware of.

Question: Does the SC940H come with cables, or do they need to be purchased separately?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. For the greatest flexibility, these switches do not come with cables. The 6ft cable is the CBL0114 and the 10ft version is the CBL0115.
