FREE Shipping on orders over $100

The SV431DDUSB 4-port Dual Monitor KVM Switch (DVI+VGA) offers a complete dual display multimedia switching solution, allowing users to control 4 computers using a single USB mouse and keyboard peripheral set.

With support for high-resolution video interfaces, the versatile dual monitor KVM switch provides 1 VGA (analog) and 1 DVI-I port per computer connection, as well as audio switching capability between connected computers.

Delivering the capability you need for virtually any application, the dual monitor KVM switch features an integrated 2-port USB hub that allows connected USB 2.0 peripherals to be shared between connected computers, eliminating the need to purchase duplicate peripherals.

Suitable for any workspace, the dual monitor KVM switch features a compact, desktop KVM design and features a rugged metal chassis that helps ensure durability.

NOTE: While both DVI-I (analog mode) and DVI-D (digital only) are supported by the KVM, both source PCs must output the same signal type for proper switching. It is recommended wherever possible to use DVI-D cables across all PC to KVM and KVM to Console connections. If necessary, please contact our technical support team for assistance identifying your source.

Question: is this switch (SV431DDUSB) supposed to support a Mac video input. My cable is hdmi at Mac end, DVI-D at StarTech end. then DVI-D from switch to monitor. I confirmed that Mac cabled directly to the monitor works, and my linux systems work through the switch, but with startech in the middle, screen stays blank (no signal). Startech red/green lights suggest it is getting signal from the mac. help
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,

We are sorry that to hear you are experiencing this issue!

Technically speaking as the Linux computer is working without issue, I would suspect that the unit should not have this issue with the Mac computer. There are a few things that can help us identify the issue and to better understand the environment:
  • Is the display connecting directly through the DVI Console port on the back of the KVM or are you adapting this side as well?
  • If you swap the location of the Linux computer and Mac computer, does the issue follow the Mac or stay on the port?
  • What is the model and OS running on the Mac?
  • What is the make and model of the display?

Also please feel free to reach out directly to StarTech Technical Support for issue over the phone or a live chat session. These methods typically result in a faster resolution. If needed, they can also arrange for a free, remote support session to see the exact issue and help troubleshoot the situation.

To reach StarTech by phone, you can use the phone number 1 800 265 1844 or 1 (519) 455 9675 from the United States. If calling from outside of the United States, please refer to the correct number from the StarTech.com website in your region. Please choose option 4 to speak with a Technical Advisor, and mention the case number 504-735516 in that call. This way, they can verify if the issue is with the unit and then they can work with you through us for a replacement unit or alternative product."

If you have any further information or questions, we would be happy to help!
